Distinctive Designs

The team at Todd Ford Builders recently completed a project in the Heathfield subdivision on Elsie Purnell Place.

Starting in April of 2022, the team covered the entire build from start to finish. They took care of everything from the ground up, including retaining walls, foundations, framing, roof work (roof framing), aluminium installation, cladding, insulation, interior lining, and all the finishing touches.

Todd Ford Builders has managed all the trades involved in putting the hit project together.

The new, single-level house, with 317 square metres of space, features four bedrooms, two bathrooms, two separate toilets, and two garages (one double and one separate). There are two outdoor areas, one with a retractable louvre.

Unique Features in the Heathfield Home

The house is clad using Solar Rib roofing, Rockcote plaster, James Hardie vertical stria, and Cemintel Territory cladding. The flat roof connecting four pitched roofs gives it a unique look.

The steel portals and a pitched ceiling create a large living space inside. The home is packed with features: a curved wall, a barn door, and excellent lighting.

It also features polished concrete floors and stylish Cemintel cladding. Custom vanities, big doorways, comfy shaggy carpet, a cosy fireplace, and ducted heating are also included.

Project Challenges During the Build

The build was completed in April 2023. However, Todd Ford Builders faced a few challenges during the project.

First, building a curved retaining wall three metres tall using 4200 millimetres of SED poles required careful work. Pitching a flat roof to suit the correct falls away from four separate wings took some planning. They also had to be extremely precise with window heights and steel beams to make sure everything lined up perfectly. Lastly, using Cemintel cladding for the first time was a learning experience, but it turned out to be manageable in the end.
